The Entire Jollibee Menu
Jollibee, a Filipino fast-food restaurant is available to all. It was established in the Philippines in 1975. It made its way to the United States in 1998. Jollibee is rapidly expanding and now has more than 30 locations in the United States, from Los Angeles to New York City. Jollibee plans to open a massive location in Times Square and is working on expansions after the pandemic.
Is the ChickenJoy really a joy-stimulating food? Do I feel happy after eating Jolly Spaghetti? These were the questions I had as I was about to eat the entire Jollibee menu.
On a mission to taste every item on the menu and rank them, I went to Jollibee. After spending an hour and 100 dollars, I was able to taste everything on the menu from breakfast to the famous chicken of Jollibee to frosty desserts. These are the results, sorted from least to most delicious.
Jolly Hot Dog
This was almost the last time I ordered it. I was disappointed in the mystery grated cheese, banana ketchup, and beef hot dogs. The hot dogs were lacking flavor and grill marks. It was also lacking in any positive qualities. The bun was bland and tasteless. It's possible that Jollibee is only known for its hot dogs. I don't know why. Let the hot dog go in some spaghetti, and we can talk.
Buttered Corn
It sounds exactly like it does: a bowl full of corn and melted butter. It tastes more like butter than corn, but that's not a bad thing. Although it's a great side dish, the other sides are even better.
Two-Piece Burger Steak
The dish was essentially a subpar version Ikea's Swedish meatballs. The dish came with two thin patties, which were a little rubbery and topped with plenty of mushrooms. A thinner, more liquidy mushroom gravy was served over the patties. It was almost as if the gravy had been cooked in a microwave. It was bland in both taste and color.
Buko Pandan Pearl Cooler
The slushie-like drink is very similar to an Icee. However, it was a little too bland. The tapioca pearls were too hard and it was a little watery. It was a pandan flavor that is similar to Southeast Asia's vanilla. But there wasn't enough.
Ube Pearl Cooler
This was slightly more than the buko-pandan pearl cooler. Although the pearls were still very hard, the whole thing was too cold for me. However, the use flavor (which is derived from sweet purple yams that are used in desserts in the Philippines) was prominent and delicious. The flavor was good, but the textures were not.
Adobo Rice
I expected stronger adobo flavors--more vinegar, more spices, and more garlic--but it tasted more like peppery rice. It had small pieces of pork scattered throughout, which added a meaty flavor. Although it was enjoyable, it did not have the deep flavors and deeper flavors that make adobo special.
Mashed Potatoes
These whipped potatoes are slightly more runny than traditional Thanksgiving mashed potatoes. The gravy drizzled over the potatoes adds a nice salty flavor to the creamy texture of the potatoes. The texture is soft and loose. It's not what you would expect from fast food mashed potatoes.
French Fries
For reference, these taste just like your average, run-of-the-mill fast-food fries--which means they are good, hot, and crispy. Good fries are not just fries at the end. I am here to enjoy all Filipino favorites, not just the traditional, frozen french fries.
